Everblue designs and builds custom websites for service businesses and online shops, usually on WordPress or Shopify so your team can edit them. Each site is planned page by page around what your customers search for, then designed for the phone first. When we replace a site, every old page is redirected to its new address so you keep the search visibility it built up. Our team of designers, developers and marketers, led by James, builds for businesses in Ireland, the UK and the US.
If your business is in the capital, our page on web design for Dublin businesses explains how we work with Dublin firms from our office in Cavan.
WordPress, Shopify or a custom build: which suits you?
WordPress suits most service businesses, because it is widely supported and your team can edit pages without us. Our comparison of WordPress, Squarespace or a custom build explains when a simpler website builder is enough.
Shopify suits online shops, since products, payments and shipping are built in. If you are weighing it against a WordPress shop, read Shopify vs WooCommerce first.
A custom build makes sense when speed matters most or the site needs something a theme can't handle well, like a booking system or a product lookup. When the site has to run part of the business behind it, like quotes or client logins, that becomes web application development, which our team handles too. We'll recommend a platform after the discovery call and explain why, and Webflow vs WordPress covers another option businesses often ask us about.
Who this is for, and when we'd suggest something else
A good fit if
- You need website design for a small business that relies on enquiries, bookings or online sales, and the site should be bringing more of them in.
- Your current site is slow on a phone, or small changes like a new price or opening hours mean waiting on a developer.
- You want the website, SEO and ads planned together by one team.
When we'd point you elsewhere
- If you only need a simple one-page site, a builder like Squarespace or Wix will do the job for much less, and we will tell you so.
- If your site is in good shape and just needs more visitors, we would rather spend your budget on SEO or Google Ads than rebuild it.
What's included in our web design services
Designed for your business
Each site is designed for your business rather than adapted from a bought theme, so it doesn't look like every other site using the same one.
Built for phones first
We design and test the site on a phone first, because that is where many of your customers will see it.
SEO foundations
Page titles, headings, internal links, page speed and schema (code that tells Google what each page is about) are handled during the build, so search engines can understand the site from launch day.
Forms that reach you
Enquiry forms, click-to-call and booking tools send leads to wherever you will actually see them, whether that is an inbox, a CRM or a team member at each location.
Online shops on Shopify
We build Shopify stores with the product catalogues, subscriptions and integrations your shop needs, and Crispy Green and Netcrisps both sell through shops we built. Our ecommerce website design in Ireland starts from how your customers browse, choose and pay.
A site you can edit
You can update pages, events and products yourself, without waiting on a developer for every small change.
What happens, step by step
Discovery
We learn how your business wins customers, look at your current site and your competitors, and agree what the new site needs to do.
Page plan
You get a sitemap and a plan for each page, so you can see what goes where before any design starts.
Design
We design the key pages for you to review and work through your feedback with you before anything is built.
Build and test
We build the site, test it on phones, tablets and desktops, check every form, and set up analytics so you can see what the site brings in.
Launch and handover
We launch the site with your old pages redirected to their new addresses, and show your team how to edit it.
Web design projects and what changed
Each case study starts where the business was when it came to us, then explains what we did and why.
Arch-i Modular Construction
A rebuilt website and SEO for this modular construction firm brought in roughly four to five times the enquiries.

After a rebrand and a new website, enquiries went from two or three a week to 20 or 30, roughly tenfold, without any paid advertising.
Read the case studyNetcrisps
We built a Shopify store for more than 350 products and ran the SEO, paid ads and Klaviyo email around it. More than 45% of Netcrisps customers come back to buy again.
Read the case study“James recently created our new website and he did a fantastic job. He was always on the other end of the phone if I had any questions or suggestions. He is so professional and really cares about the work he is doing. James also brought some super ideas of how to make the site look amazing and stand out. It was a pleasure to work with James and Everblue Digital and I ill recommend them to everyone. Mark (Stratmore Entertainment)”
Web design questions
If your question isn't answered here, email [email protected] and we'll get back to you.
How much does a website cost in Ireland?
It depends on the number of pages, whether you sell online, the features the site needs, such as bookings or a product catalogue, and how much of the writing and photography we handle. Once we know what the site needs to do, you'll get a quote with a timeline. For typical market prices, our guide to how much a website costs in Ireland sets out the ranges and what drives them.
Do I need a new website?
Not always. If your site is sound but slow or hard to enquire from, fixing those problems usually costs less than a rebuild, and that's what we'd recommend. A rebuild makes sense when the site can't easily be changed. Stratmore's old site had the wrong phone number in its footer for six months, because nobody on the team knew how to change it.
How long does a website take?
You'll get a timeline with the quote, worked out from the pages and features the site needs. After that, the launch date mostly moves with how quickly your text, photos and feedback reach us.
Will I lose my Google rankings if you rebuild my site?
You shouldn't, because we map every old page to its new address and set up the redirects before launch. That's how you keep the search visibility your current site has built up.
How do we choose a web design company?
Ask who will own the domain, the hosting and the site itself, how your old pages will be redirected so you keep your Google rankings, and whether your team can edit the site without paying for every change. Our guide on how to choose a web design agency in Ireland covers these and the other questions worth asking.
Can a grant help pay for a new website?
Sometimes. Government grant schemes have helped Irish small businesses pay for websites and online selling, but the schemes, amounts and eligibility rules change, so check what is open before you commit. Our guide to grants for a new website in Ireland explains the schemes and where to check the current rules.
Can you take over a site another agency built?
Yes. We've taken over sites from other agencies, including one where the previous agency had locked the client out of their own website.
Do you look after the site after launch?
Yes. Our website maintenance in Ireland covers hosting, updates and fixes, or we can hand the site over to your own team with everything they need.
