Website maintenance is the care a site needs after launch: hosting, software and security updates, backups, speed checks, fixes when something stops working and small changes along the way. Everblue looks after websites for businesses in Cavan, Dublin and across Ireland, and for clients in the UK and the US.
We look after sites we've built and sites we've taken over from other agencies. In New York, for example, we host and maintain S.R.P. Brokers' website, so their brokers can concentrate on the property listings.
Taking over a site another agency built
We start by checking that your business holds the admin logins to the website, domain and hosting. Then we review the software, plugins, backups and speed before changing anything, and fix whatever is urgent first.
Crispy Green shows why the logins matter. When their previous agency cut off access to the website and hosting, one overlooked admin account was the only way back in. It let us take a full copy of the site and keep the business trading while we planned its new store.

What does website maintenance cost?
It depends on the platform, how much the site does and whether we host it. A simple Shopify site needs far less looking after than a WordPress site with a shop and a long list of plugins, for example. We'll quote once we've seen the site, and our guide to website maintenance costs and pricing sets out typical market prices.
Do we still own our website and domain?
You should, and we'll check that you do. Your business should hold the admin logins to the website, the domain and the hosting, because they're your way back in if a relationship ends badly. There's no minimum contract term, and if you move on, we'll hand the site over to your own team with everything they need.
Can you look after a site you didn't build?
Yes. We look after WordPress, Shopify and custom-built sites, including ones we've taken over from other agencies. We review the site first so we know what we're working with, and if it's too far gone to maintain sensibly, we'll say so and explain what a rebuild would involve.
Are small changes to the website included?
Yes. Small changes such as updating text, swapping photos or changing your opening hours are part of the care, so you don't have to learn the website yourself unless you want to. If something is bigger than that, like a new section or a new feature, we'll talk it through with you first.
What happens if something breaks?
Tell us and we'll fix it, because fixes are part of the care. If an update or a change caused the problem, we can restore the site from a backup while we sort out the cause.
