Web design and SEO for a new New York mover, with every enquiry kept and traced to its source
We launched this New York mover's website with two ways to ask for a quote, and every enquiry is confirmed to the customer and traced back to where it came from.
Where it started
Keepsake Moving & Storage came to us shortly before it started trading in New York City, with a brand identity from its own designer and no public website. Most New York moving sites lead with proof built up over years, such as review counts, founding dates and fleet sizes, and a new company has none of that. Inventing it is the quickest way to lose a customer's trust the moment they check. In SEO for moving companies, the first page for general moving searches also belongs to firms with long trading histories. Keepsake needed a site that could be found for more specific searches and win enquiries on how it does the job.
What we did and why
Copy that explains how the job is done
Without years of proof to point to, the copy argues from how Keepsake works. It explains how a flat price is put together, who deals with building management and certificates of insurance, and how access and elevators are planned before moving day. Every claim on the site comes from a list of facts the company confirmed, and anything not on that list stays off. We applied the brand identity Keepsake supplied and wrote the voice guide, the site copy and the text for a trifold brochure.
Quote forms that ask the New York questions
The team takes calls between jobs, so it can't afford to lose an enquiry because someone stopped halfway through a form. A short quote wizard throughout the site changes its questions with the kind of move, whether that's a move within the city, an office, a piano or helping a parent relocate. It also asks what the building is like at both ends and whether either requires a certificate of insurance, which often decides how a New York job is planned. The full quote page lets someone describe the whole job, from extra stops and floor levels to home size and preferred times. It saves as they go, so a half-finished enquiry is still kept with whatever was filled in.
Enquiries saved and followed up without retyping
Keepsake couldn't spend evenings retyping details into an email list, or put money into marketing without knowing which channel was paying off. Now each enquiry is stored, the team is notified and the customer gets a confirmation at once, while spam bots are quietly turned away. The contact joins Keepsake's own email list, tagged with where it came from, and the enquiry records the first and latest way the visitor arrived, including the ad or campaign that sent them. A "How did you hear about us?" question picks up the word-of-mouth referrals that analytics can't see.
A page for each borough and neighbourhood
Rather than chase the broadest, most competitive searches, we built the site and its SEO around the more specific ones underneath them. Every service and each of the five boroughs has its own page, with neighbourhood pages beneath the boroughs. Moving out of a Park Slope brownstone and moving out of a Long Island City tower are different jobs, and the neighbourhood pages treat them that way. A library of 43 moving guides answers practical questions, from reading a moving quote to parking and elevator rules on moving day. We also listed the business across the main directories, without paying for any placements.
What changed
People planning a move can now ask Keepsake for a quote in whichever way suits them. Each enquiry reaches the team with the building details needed to price the job, and because each one records where it came from, the company can judge its marketing by the enquiries it brings in. That is how we think digital marketing in New York should be measured.
What this means for your business
A new business can earn trust by explaining how the job is done, instead of borrowing proof it hasn't built up yet. If your jobs depend on details a standard form misses, such as the building at each end of a move, ask for them in the first enquiry. Treat every enquiry as worth keeping from the very first one, so each is stored, confirmed, added to your contact list and traced to where it came from.
