Where it started

When Bishopswood came to us, they had no logo, website or brand guidelines, just headed paper set in Times New Roman. Their reputation in civil engineering and groundworks was strong, built entirely on word of mouth and repeat business. Nothing a new contact saw reflected it. When they competed for contracts against firms with polished presentations, that lack of visual credibility was holding them back.

What we did and why

The brand first, then everything else

We built the brand identity before anything else, so the website, proposals and signage would all start from the same look rather than being matched up later. We started from their values, their market position and the image they wanted to project. From there we created a custom logo and icon, a colour palette, typefaces and brand guidelines, which gave Bishopswood a consistent look for the first time.

An identity built on trust

Clients in construction and civil engineering are choosing who to trust with their project, so the branding, like the contractor website design that followed, leans on professionalism and reliability without feeling corporate or cold. It is built around strong blues and confident typography, with the tagline ‘Grounded in Trust, Built for Success’, and it presents Bishopswood as the established firm they are.

A website that does the introducing

A firm known through word of mouth needs somewhere a new contact can check them out, so we designed and built a website in the new brand. As with a lot of web design for Dublin businesses that win contracts on reputation, its first job is to confirm what people have already heard. It covers their core services of civil engineering, groundworks, construction, site development and project management, explains their experience and approach, and makes it easy to get in touch. We also set up branded social media accounts and handed them over to the team to run.

What changed

Bishopswood went from having no visual identity to a brand that carries through their website, proposals and signage. For a firm that wins contracts on trust and reputation, that brand now backs up every tender and first meeting. The website has become a central point for new enquiries.

What this means for your business

Plenty of established businesses trade for years on reputation alone, and a properly designed identity changes how new prospects see them. In construction, how a proposal or tender looks shapes how it is received before anyone reads a word of it. Doing the branding before the website means everything matches from launch, rather than being patched up later.
