An offline to an online transition for a brick & mortar business.

Task

Our task was to develop a brand new, responsive website that would look aesthetic and outline services provided. The main priority was to rank on Google in a very competitive landscape, as the previous HTML based site was not ranking on Google.

Approach

Initially, we took the previous website copy, and completely refreshed it, including vital keywords for a moving & storage company. We then prepared the copy for each individual page before we migrate the website to a new domain. Migration was done in conjunction with redirecting traffic from the old site to the new site through 301 redirects. We staged the new domain on a custom theme through a Wordpress CMS for ease of updates, content posting & changes down the line.We sourced new photographs, optimized all images, and kept page size to an absolute minimum. This case was our first example of embarking on an offline to an online transition. We handled the transition from http to https very smoothly with a minimal, temporary, loss in traffic which then shot past its usual peak thanks to a rankings boost on Google. Once the site was fully optimized for Search Engines, we ran some quality checks and ensured everything was in order. We then integrated Hubspot CRM, Live Chat & Lead Management program for tracking & conversion rate calculation.

Result

The result of this transition was phenomenal. The site now runs at a sub-5 second load time, maintains consistent traffic, ranks high on Google and generates consistent organic leads per week. These leads are purely from Google & social media based traffic. The client went from a one-page HTML site that did not rank on Google and got zero organic traffic, to a site than now plays a key role in the firms online visibility.
